I lose my cable connection several times a day for no apparent reason. I never had this problem before I built the new system and used AOL 8.0. With the old system, I was also using Windows 98SE. When you lose internet access, do the same again - and compare the output with what you saved earlier. Any differences should provide a clue as to what is happening. If you appear to be losing your IP address (as I suspect) try typing IPCONFIG /RENEW - and see if that fixes it without rebooting.
